Malone, the "star of the north", is the Franklin County seat. Located just north of the Adirondacks, it sits at the crossroads of three major highways and two scenic byways and boasts the most impressive Victorian architecture north of Saratoga Springs.
Some of the local attractions are the Malone Golf Club (finest golfing in Northern New York and southeastern Canada), Titus Mountain Ski Area, the Almanzo Wilder farm, and the historic annual Franklin County Fair. The Great Salmon River runs right through the village and is known for its superb fly fishing. The surrounding mountains, lakes, and forests provide endless opportunities for cross country skiing, hiking, biking, camping, and boating.
Malone has been host to golf tournaments, snowmobile races, dog sled races, as well as summer concerts in the park and the annual Antique Car Show. The Malone Rec Park is becoming well known for the sight of thousands of snow geese resting there every autumn on their way south.
Visitors and residents alike are treated to warm and friendly hospitality and a small town way of life.
